My Research Background
As a scholarly practitioner, action research is core to what I do and built into the work I design and deliver with my clients. My research is grounded in the methodologies of action research, interpretive phenomenology and integrates philosophical perspectives from complexity theory, post-structuralism, embodied phenomenology and lived experience.
Current research focus centres around how constructs of leadership identity inform and impact the practice of leadership, especially around gender. Previously I designed and led a research project in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute focused on best practice in advancing gender balance in the UK.
I am an honourary fellow at Exeter University Business School's Leadership Centre and serve as a peer reviewer for Gender in Management and the journal of Action Research.
